About Bluechip

Experience You Can Trust

Bluechip has been helping student-athletes and their families navigate international education and hockey opportunities since 1991.

For more than 35 years, we have advised and placed Scandinavian student-athletes at colleges, universities and hockey programs throughout the United States and Canada. More than 4,000 student-athletes have worked with Bluechip during that time.

Over the years, several hockey players we have worked with have gone on to play professionally, including in the NHL. One of them, Viktor Stålberg, went on to win the Stanley Cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2013.

Today, we are bringing that experience full circle by helping North American hockey players discover a different opportunity, combining a university education with competitive hockey in Sweden.

North America to Sweden

Our long experience working between Scandinavia and North America gives us a unique understanding of both sides.

We understand the North American hockey and college environment, and we know the Swedish university system, hockey structure and culture. This allows us to look at the complete picture and help each player find a combination of education, hockey and life in Sweden that fits their individual goals.

Your Family Advisor

Moving abroad to study and play hockey is a big decision for both the player and the family. It involves much more than choosing a university or finding a team.

Bluechip acts as your Family Advisor in Sweden, providing personal guidance and a trusted point of contact throughout your journey.

For parents, that also means knowing there is someone in Sweden who understands their son’s or daughter’s situation and is available when questions arise.

We believe personal service matters. Every student-athlete has different academic goals, hockey ambitions and circumstances, and our role is to help each family find the path that is right for them.

Personal Service

To maintain the level of personal attention and support we believe every family deserves, we work with a limited number of North American student-athletes each year.

This allows us to get to know every player and family personally and provide the individual guidance that has been at the heart of Bluechip since 1991.
